Race 6 No. 1 CRACKERJACK PRINCE ($3.40)

CRACKERJACK PRINCE can get the job done in the Donald Cup. The six-year-old has won two of his past five and stepped out at Geelong on November 11 over the 1512m, finishing runner-up behind Independent Road. The Archie Alexander-trained galloper was midfield on a slow tempo and produced the fastest last 200m to just miss. He has been up for a while but shows no sign of slowing down and this looks to be a perfect assignment for him.

Race 5 No. 6 MISTER JOHNO- ($3.40)

MISTER JOHNO might be worth sticking with in Race 5. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper resumed with a strong win in Maiden grade at Warrnambool on November 2, bursting clear at the business end to defeat Sevillana by a length. The 3rd placegetter out of that has since come out and won well at Ararat. Mister John went two lengths faster than standard benchmark in his recent run, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Improvement to come at his second run back and the son of Fastnet Rock can take the step up to BenchMark 64. Will Price rides and is four from 13 for the stable, providing a 164% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 7 No. 3 SPYLARK- ($5.50)

SPYLARK should just about be ready to show something at her third run back. The five-year-old needed the hitout when resuming over the 1400m at Horsham before sticking to that trip at Ballarat on November 6, getting back and closing off with the fastest last 200m to place 4th behind He’s Handsome. She gets out to the 1600m and was a four length winner at her only start at the track, which was back in July this year.
