Race 7 No. 8 YELLOW SAM- ($3.50)
YELLOW SAM can run a bit of a race when she resumes in Race 7. The promising filly from the Lindsey Smith stable has had the four starts for two wins and two runner-up performances. She was too good for them in Maiden grade when fresh last time before rising to this grade and winning by two lengths from Beneficio and Funzelle, who went on to claim her next two starts. She should be ready to go and will be ridden by Beau Mertens, who provides a 26% profit on turnover when combining with the stable.

Race 4 No 4 SAVABOO- ($10)
SAVABOO can go close to chalking up the first win of his career when he steps out in Race 4. The Paul Preusker-trained galloper has had three starts this time in and was a bit underdone when stepping up to the 2000m at Warrnambool two starts ago when 4th on a Heavy 10. At his most recent start, the son of Savabeel settled back over the 1600m at Werribee and was solid to the line, finishing 6th and going 3.2 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. Dean Yendall rides and just needs to find a spot early on from the wide barrier.
