Race 6:  No.3  BALDASSARE  ($2.80 with Bet Right)

Robert Heathcote saddles-up two runners here as we go with BALDASSARE as the most likely to salute today. Last start, the Snitzel gelding resumed off a 17-week break where he beat all but one home in a BM70 Hcp over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. Damien Thornton had him box-seating in the run and finished strongly, only to be nosed-out on the line. Thornton sticks with him here and already a winner when second-up and a winner at the track, from gate two, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 7:  No.7  SEBRING GIRL  ($3.45 with BoomBet)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained SEBRING GIRL is second-up here and fitter for that first-up run, will take beating over this trip today. Last start, the Sebring mare came off a lengthy 29-week break when she lined-up in a BM65 Hcp and over the 1000m sprint, did well to beat all but one home that day. She needs more ground to run over and gets that here with Martin Harley taking the reins for the first time. She gets the gun-run from gate one today and should settle better than mid-field with plenty of cover. With just a little luck in the run home, she finish over the top of them here and record her third career win.

Race 5:  No.8  KOKONOTSU  ($4.40 with Bet Right)

The Tony Gollan-trained KOKONOTSU is third-up today and his first two runs suggest he will take beating here. Two starts back, the Maurice gelding resumed off a 23-week break and having his first start for the Gollan stable, beat all but one home in an Eagle Farm Maiden over 1400m. Then last start, he went one better by breaking through, here in a Maiden Plate over the mile with Angela Jones riding him a treat that day. James Orman is in control for this assignment and he has some early work to do from gate ten but is capable of crossing and finding cover in the run. Winning form is good form and now a track and distance success, he can go on with it today.
