BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.14  ORBISYN  ($8 with Neds)

David Vandyke saddles-up ORBISYN here who resumes off a 17-week break and has done enough in recent trials to suggest he can play a role in this event. Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding finished just behind the placegetters in a BM85, here over 1110m to end his last campaign. Since returning to work, he has run in three barrier trials and won the lot, the last by seven lengths with Taylor Marshall on board. Marshall has his first ‘race’ ride on the five-year-old here and looks ideally drawn in gate two where he maps to settle on speed. Already a two-time winner when first-up and a two-time at the track, he has strong claims here at odds.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.12  FRUMOS  ($8.50 bet365 with bet365)

The Chris Waller-trained FRUMOS makes the trip north of the border and second-up here could give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Kitten’s Joy mare was fresh off a 14-week spell when she lined-up in a BM78 Hcp over 1300m at Rosehill and wasn’t disgraced by finishing fourth on a Heavy 9 that day. She ran that trip out, 3.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Fitter for that run here, J.Mac sticks with her and already a winner when second-up, she looks a major player among these.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1:  No.5  DRIVE A DEEL  ($10 with Unibet)

The Robert Heathcote-trained DRIVE A DEEL is three starts into this campaign and back on his favourite track, she should be ready to produce her best here. Last start, the Dundeel mare improved enough to finish fifth (beaten less than a length) in a BM85 over the mile at the Sunshine Coast. She was third-up that day and hit the line well. She has won four of five over the 1600m trip and is two from two at this track and distance. Rock-hard fit after three runs back, Jason Collett has the job here and with a trouble-free run, she can return to the winner’s circle in this contest at good odds.
