BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  EKATERINA  ($5 with bet365)

Robert Heathcote saddles-up two of the top fancies here as we run with EKATERINA who looks set for the hat-trick in this Listed event. Last start, the Russian Revolution mare made it two-straight when she overpowered them in the run home, winning in Open company over 1400m at Eagle Farm. Michael Rodd takes the reins for his first ride on the mare who is already a two-time winner at Doomben and boasts four wins over the 1200mm trip to date. She maps to settle near mid-field and should be doing her best work late. At her peak after three runs back, she can give this contest a real shake.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.8  TOJAKI  ($4 with BlueBet)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained TOJAKI is high-flying this time in and looks set to step-up here and land another back-to-back win in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar mare returned to the winner’s circle (after an unlucky second here two starts back), beating home a Class 3 field with Robbie Dolan on board for the first time. She keeps on stepping-up, winning three of her four starts this preparation and has Dolan sticking with her for this assignment. She should be at her peak here and looks every chance of upsetting the odds-on favourite (Midnight In Tokyo) with a weight advantage and plenty of upside.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.4  ALBERICH  ($5.25 with Bet Right)

Chris Waller saddles-up ALBERICH here who is third-up off a five-month absence and looks well placed for back-to-back wins in this contest. Last start, the Snitzel gelding showed good improvement when second-up, he claimed victory in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1640m. Carrying 59kgs (and James Orman for the first time), he finished best to claim victory by a length on the line. He steps-up in grade here but enjoying the gun-run form gate one and carrying a similar weight, he looks up to this challenge. Orman sticks with him and fitter for two runs back, he looks in the mix again.
