Race 6:  No.7  VODKA MARTINI  ($2.80 with Bet Right)

The Kelly Schweida-trained VODKA MARTINI is yet to miss a podium finish in eight career starts and ticking all boxes here, that doesn’t look like changing in this event. Last start, the Agitate gelding brought up win number five when he clobbered his rivals in a BM78 over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Sitting outside the leader that day, he took over on straightening and that was all she wrote as he went to score by almost two lengths on the line. This is one very serious racehorse and from gate one here, he will take a ton of beating again.

Race 1:  No.1  DEVASTATING  ($4.80 with Unibet)

The Tony Gollan-trained DEVASTATING has come back in top-shelf form and looks set to continue with it in this contest. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding came off a first-up second placing at Eagle Farm when he went one better and took out a Class 3 Plate over 1000m on the same track. James Orman was aboard for the first time that day and sticks with the five-year-old for this assignment. He meets similar company here and gets the gun-run from gate one and already a winner when third-up, looks the testing material again.

Race 3:  No.8  ARGYLE PINK  ($6 with Ladbrokes)

Tony Gollan saddles-up ARGYLE PINK here who is first-up off a 10-week break and looks well placed to figure in the finish of this contest. Last start, the Star Witness mare ended her last campaign finishing mid-field in a BM75, here over the 1350m trip. Gollan sent her to the paddock after that and since then she won a trial at this track three weeks ago in preparation for her return in this event. Cejay Graham rode her in that trial and has the reins here for the first time (under race conditions) on the five-year-old. Nicely drawn in gate three, she is already a winner when first-up and a two-time winner at the track. With a trouble-free run here, she can give this a real shake.
