BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.6  ANTISOCIAL

Ballina trainer, Brett Cavanough brings a full float to Dubbo today and here he saddles-up ANTISOCIAL who is second-up and looks well placed for a win in this contest. Last start, the Pariah filly was fresh off an eight-month absence when she did well to grab third prize in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1000m. She couldn’t go the early pace and settled second-last, spotting the leaders ten lengths nearing the turn. Never a winning chance from there, she came down the middle of the track and beat all but two of the 11-strong field in a real eye-catching return to the track. Cobie Vitler is the new pilot today and after the 2kg claim, the three-year-old comes in half a kilo under the limit with 54.5kgs to carry. She has come in for plenty of attention in overnight betting after opening as a $3.50 chance. Much better drawn here in gate four, the filly maps to settle closer today and with a trouble-free run and fitter for that first-up effort, she looks the one to beat here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.6  JOISELLE

Another from the Cavanough camp is JOISELLE who lines up here off an impressive debut performance and looks set for back-to-back wins today, Last start, the Snitzel filly gave them what for in a 1000m Maiden on this track. With Braith Nock aboard, he had her settled in the one, one where she had the jump on them from the outset. She took a while to settle for the run home, but knuckled down to the task and finished all over the top of them, eased over the final stages. She has a tricky gate to deal with today, jumping from alley 11 (of 12) as Nock sticks with her for this event. The extra distance looks ideal for her today and If she can cross and settle mid-field or better, they may struggle to keep her out in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.1  MEDINAH

The Mudgee-based galloper, MEDINAH is high-flying this time in and looks every chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Pariah gelding went back-to-back when he easily accounted for a BM58 over 1400m on his home track. Aaron Bullock rode him a treat that day and lumping 60.5kgs, he went on to put 1.5 lengths on them over the line. Nick Heywood had the reins in her only previous appearance here (three starts back) and he steers the ship again today. Nicely drawn in gate three, he maps to settle near the speed and in his current frame of mind, he will give this a real shake.
