ANCHOR BET

Race 7:  No.10  JIMMYSSTAR

Ciaron Maher saddles-up the promising JIMMYSSTAR here who is yet to miss a top-two finish in seven starts to date and will take a ton of beating today. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding came off a big first-up win at Caulfield when he went down to Makram in the Listed The Elms Hcp over 1400m at Flemington. Losing a plate during the race, he was beaten just half a length on the line. He was nominated to run is the Group 3 Shaftsbury Avenue Hcp at Flemington on Saturday, but Maher has opted to run him in this contest. Tyler Schiller is the new pilot and he gets the gun-run from gate one as well where he maps to settle right behind the speed. A clear run to the line should see him saluting today. He looks the prime choice to use as an anchor for your multiples.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2:  No.7  REVELAIDE

In top-shelf form this time in, REVELAIDE has finally broken the ice and looks set for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Rebel Raider gelding skipped over maiden class company where he took on BM58 gallopers and beat them to the wire, here over 2200m. He settled last of the seven runners but came wide before the turn and went on with it, crossing the line a length clear in the end. He steps-up in distance today and has Dylan Gibbons as the new pilot for this assignment. He maps to settle back in the field again but at his peak here, he should be finishing strongly again and looks a prime contender for the big prize.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.12  IMPULSIVITY

The Team Snowden-trained IMPULSIVITY is in great touch this preparation and third-up today looks a shoe-in to bringing up her second career-win in this contest. Last start, the Russian Revolution filly came off her maiden win at Kembla Grange when she wasn’t far away in finishing third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Wyong. Today, Kerrin McEvoy returns for his second ride on the filly and from gate three, maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. Treated nicely at the weights today, she comes in on the limit with 56kgs and fitter for those two runs back, she looks a strong winning chance here at odds.
