BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.2  STARLINK  ($3.55 with BoomBet)

Locally-trained by Clint Lundholm, STARTLINK is high-flying at the moment and looks poised to make it three-straight today. Last start, the Star Witness mare made it back-to-back wins when she took out a BM58 Hcp against her own sex, here over 1300m. With Ron Simpson aboard, she settled back in the field but weaving through weakening traffic, she found clean air at the right time and finished over the top of them to score an impressive win. Simpson sticks with her today and while concedes weight to the boys here, she is in such great form, she will still prove hard to hold out.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.3  AMARANTZ  ($4 with Ladbrokes)

Goulburn galloper AMARANTZ returns from a stint in the city and looks up to this class today. Last start, the Animal Kingdom mare was second-up when she finished unplaced in a Class 3 Highway Plate over 1500m at Randwick. She drew gate 10 that day and settled well back, making some ground in the run home. She will strip even fitter here and should find this contest a lot easier today. Hannah Williams steered the mare to her maiden win at Canberra last preparation and has the reins again today. Already a winner at Class 3 level (in the city), she can give this event a real fright.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 9:  No.7  VIS I DO  ($8.50 with Picklebet)

Tamworth galloper VIS I DO is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Supido gelding came off his maiden win at Gunnedah and franked that effort by going back-to-back, taking out a Class 1 Hcp in fine style at Armidale. Ash Morgan settled him mid-field on the fence, then joined in at the 200m mark where the three-year-old grew another leg and ran away to win by more than two lengths in the 1400m contest. Stepping up to Class 2 company today, Morgan sticks with him and showing plenty of upside, he looks great value here and is capable of showing up in this event.
