Race 2 No. 9 PRINCESS HALO – ($2.20)

PRINCESS HALO can improve on a debut effort that saw him finish 4th at Geelong on June 20. The Nick Ryan-trained galloper led that day and just faded late in the piece behind Massira. The runner-up out of that race has since come out and brained them by six lengths at Bendigo. Princess Halo comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and gets the 2kg claim for Thomas Prebble, who has won four of 12 for the stable.

Race 10 No 2 RISING RENOWN- ($7.50)

WANJIRU can end the day as a winner. The five-year-old tends to take a few runs to get going and was an improver third up at Kilmore on May 25 when 3rd behind Mawkeb in a race that has produced a couple of winers. At his most recent start, the son of Complacent was a bit luckless late in the piece when making up some ground in a BenchMark 64 to place 3rd behind Vivacious Award. He comes back to 58 grade for this and should appreciate a track with a bit of sting out of the ground. Hannah Edgley rides and claims the 2kg.
