Race 7 No. 10 KANGAROO COURT ($2.30)

Impressive last start winner KANGAROO COURT goes in as our Best Bet selection for Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Sat handy to win his maiden at Kembla Grange when resuming before proving costly to punters in a CL1 at Hawkesbury. Adam Hyeronimus followed at the leaders’ hindquarters that day with Kangaroo Court taking an age to balance up. Still looked the winner most of the way up the straight only to have one sneak underneath him and win. Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott were undeterred in taking him to town third-up with Tim Clark settling towards the back of midfield. He worked his way off the fence with Kangaroo Court taking the split inside the 200m and nailing Howgoodareyou on the line.

Race 4 No. 1 HOBBSY ($4.40)

Should think HOBBSY will roll forward from the gate and Nick Heywood may even control this race from the front on him. The horse jumped cleanly first-up to put himself in front of the field over 1425m at Moruya. He was wayward into the straight under Ellen Hennessy before being claimed late by Bringbackthebears while comfortably holding the rest. Stayed to seven-furlongs second-up and pinged to the early lead under Heywood. Hobbsy became taken on in front with Heywood taking a trail before going up to the leader on turning. Hobbsy came away from the others into the straight and can make it two from two as trainer Scott Collings keeps him to the trip third-up.

Race 3 No. 3 PLATINUM ASSET ($7)

Kayla Nisbet rides PLATINUM ASSET for Claire Lever at Forbes Racecourse on Sunday and the mare can improve sharply second-up. She settled at the back of midfield under Ben Looker first-up before getting home hard for third. Platinum Asset very nearly stole the show when racing second-up last time in. Clayton Gallagher had also allowed Platinum Class to settle back in the field before making ground to the turn. The winner Fine Vintage had kicked away inside the furlong with the race looking all but over. Platinum Asset dug deep to put the big strides in and make it interesting on the line.
