The Scott Morrisey-trained FASTHEARTBEAT is in top-shelf form and looks a serious chance here of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the No Nay Never gelding made it back-to-back victories when he took out a BM62 Hcp over 1050m on the synthetic track at the Gold Coast. He has led from barrier to box in his past two starts and has Georgina Cartwright returning for this assignment (after she steered him to his maiden win two starts back). He has more weight to carry today but drops back in distance and from an ideal draw in gate three, he maps to again be leading the pack on settling. Left alone to dictate the pace here, he should prove hard to run down.

Race 5: No.4 SUKHBIR ($4.25 with BoomBet)

Gold Coast galloper, SUKHBIR, makes his Gatton debut today and bringing four-straight top-three finishes with him, looks a genuine contender for the major prize here. Last start, the Super One gelding clobbered them in a BM60 Hcp over 1500m at Kilcoy. With Amy Graham aboard, he led to the turn, then found another gear to go on with it and cross the line almost two lengths ahead of them. Graham sticks with him here and this looks no harder. He gets all the favours from gate one and maps to be on speed from the outset. Already a two-time winner over the 1600m journey, he will take beating again today.

Race 3: No.4 HOT PROFIT ($11 with Picklebet)

The Thornton clan have HOT PROFIT engaged here today and second-up, look right in the mix among this company. Last start, the Sizzling gelding resumed off an 18-week spell and not one to fire first-up, finished unplaced in a BM65 over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast with Boris (Thornton) in the saddle. He sticks with him today and should find this contest a little easier. His only start here resulted in a win over the mile in BM62 company four starts back. He is already a winner when second-up and draws well in gate three today. Scratched from race 5 today to run here, he has two wins over the trip and looks a solid each-way chance to make it three in this event.
