BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.7  MILEY’S MEMORY  ($2.30 with bet365)

Gold Coast visitor, MILEY’S MEMORY has found her mojo after four starts back and making her Gatton debut today, looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans filly finally broke through for her maiden win after 11 visits to the track. With Michael Cahill aboard (for the seventh time), she crossed and led on settling and despite being challenged on the turn, she fought on strongly and went on to win the 1320m event by more than a length on the line. Rock-hard fit after those four runs, she should be at her peak now and has Cahill sticking with her for this assignment. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she maps to be on-speed again and should be there at the finish again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.5  TOKYO SINS ($4.80 with Unibet)

The Toowoomba-based TOKYO SINS has come back in career-best form and now five starts into this preparation, looks set to make it six-straight podium finishes today. Last start, the Mikki Isle mare kept the top-three finishes rolling along when she beat all but one home in a BM62 Hcp over 1100m at Warwick. Apprentice, Rob Thorburn was aboard for the first time and did well to have the mare in a winning position inside the final 100m but she was nabbed on the line by a swooper, leaving her with the silver medal that day. Thorburn steers the ship again today and after his 3kg claim, the five-year-old carries less weight here. Runner-up at the track at her only start here (12 months ago), a trouble-free run today should see her fighting out the finish.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No.7  SUNIKI  ($11.20 with BoomBet)

One at odds here is the Jayden Sims-trained SUNIKI who is a track specialist and third-up today could very well steal this race with a tactical ride. Last start, the Stratum Star mare was second-up off a five-month break when she grabbed victory in a BM50 over 1000m at Bell (a small town outside of Dalby). She carried 61.5kgs that day and raced on a Firm 2 track. Whilst she didn’t beat much that day, she handled the conditions well enough to bring her into calculations here. Eight starts at this track have resulted in three wins and two runner-up finishes and after the claim here, she carries 55.5kgs, a drop of 6kgs from that last start win. There’s plenty to like about her chances today and she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
