BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.2 TOO HARD TO REFUSE ($3.40 with Palmerbet)
Desleigh Forster saddles-up TOO HARD TO REFUSE here who is third-up and ready to rock today. Last start, the Heroic Valour gelding was second-up off a 19-week break when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1400m. He chased the leader all the way but couldn’t quite bridge the gap, having to settle for second prize on the day. Here, he takes on his own age group and is joined by Damien Thornton for the first time and draws well in gate seven where he maps to settle behind the speed with cover. Sporting a tongue tie for the first time, he will strip fitter for those two runs back and looks a serious contender here today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8: No.7 MY WHISTLEBLOWER ($3.70 with Bet Right)
Four-straight top-two finishes suggest that the Lindsay Hatch-trained MY WHISTLEBLOWER is in career-best form and he looks all set to add another notch in the gun belt here today. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding came off his maiden win and wasn’t disgraced when finishing second in his crack at Class 1 company over 1850m at Toowoomba. Jake Molloy rode him in that Maiden win and returns here for today’s assignment. Ideally drawn in gate three, he maps to settle behind the pace (on or near the fence) with cover. Enjoying a trouble-free run to the turn today, he should have enough fuel left to lay down a serious challenge to them in the run home.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 3: No.1 TERMITE ($6.60 with BoomBet)
The Matt Park-trained TERMITE is second-up today and looks well placed to go one better here. Last start, the Vancouver gelding came off an 11-week spell when he beat all but one home in a 1400m Maiden Hcp on this course. With Michael Hellyer in the saddle, he drew the outside gate (12) and still posted the fastest final 800m and 600m sectionals for that race. Well drawn here in gate five, he maps to settle better than mid-field and fitter for that first-up run, he looks well suited at the mile trip today and is a prime contender for the major prize.
