Race 4 No. 4 JILLADORA ($3.30)

Pace should be on with pressure, and we’ll be hoping that by race 4 horses such as JILLADORA will be surging up the middle of the track. We followed Jilladora as a three-year-old and watched with some frustration as she did plenty of things wrong early in her races. Maggie Collett claimed some weight as Justin Pickering sent Jilladora around in a Strathalbyn maiden first-up last prep. The pair came as the widest runner into the straight to land us the cash over the tearaway leader No Entitlement. Jilladora has since impressed under Teagan Voorham as she gets ready for her first-up run at Gawler Racecourse on Wednesday.

Race 1 No. 3 CHEF MILITAIRE ($4.20)

An inside gate should help Samuel Payne hunt CHEF MILITAIRE into a position early in the first at Gawler Racecourse on Wednesday. Chef Militaire did find them a bit too sharp as he was beaten for pace over 1100 metres here first-up. Payne remained hard at work on the gelding who gradually picked up the bit and began to chase. The debutante Snipers Nightmare had stolen a march though, and Chef Militaire could not quite peg that horse back for second place. The winner was a very well tried Sixteen Reasons who swept past both horses with momentum to score. She has since raced well at Listed level, and we are confident that hers is the right formline to be following.

Race 7 No. 13 RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE ($43)

Ron Campbell can knock off another win with RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE as his grey mare gets nearer to start number 100. She won again two starts back on the dirt at Port Augusta as Rochelle Milnes tracked the speed on her. Rusty took the gap by the 100m to land a convincing win over her rivals. Campbell had given her a let-up prior to that run and then brought her to Gawler. Rusty was just okay, thought outclassed by Seven Secrets who left her in his wake by the top of the straight. Britney Wong can give the mare the run of the race from an ideal gate and Rustydustysunshine can improve back on top of the ground.
