BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 9 LIGHTS OF BROADWAY – ($2.90)
Morphettville trainer Andrew Gluyas has LIGHTS OF BROADWAY profiling as a coming winner. The early punters have latched onto the overs set out by the corporates and we’ll be riding on their coat tails. The mare comes in fourth-up from an inside middle gate as in-form stable senior Jason Holder retains the ride. He was forced to get back further than he would’ve liked on Lights Of Broadway last start at Strathalbyn on a day where most of the winners came from the on/off pace positions. Lights Of Broadway also tracked to the outside part of the track into the straight as the winner burst through the preferred middle section. Stubbie will give her every chance on Monday in what is a suitable race for Lights Of Broadway.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 1 EXALTED DAME – ($4.80)
Stable apprentice Britney Wong takes the ride aboard EXALTED DAME for Morphettville horseman Jon O’Connor. Britney would have had a few options going into this race and we’re confident that she’ll be happy with the call being made to ride for the boss. We’ll center the form for this race around a recent fillies and mares race at Morphettville which was won by Our Shining Star. Exalted Dame came back underneath Ben Price as the pair began well while Tosen Water pushed on from her outside gate. There was only even tempo in the race with Exalted Dame putting paid to Monday’s rival inside the furlong. That is the right formline heading into Gawler with both horses set to gain a good run in transit again.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 9 PETERZANO – ($7)
We’ll take a punt and suggest that PETERZANO did not take too much of a gut buster first-up for his new stable. Mark Lewis had Peterzano tagging across from country New South Wales to run a big race while resuming on Balaklava Cup Day. On speed and nearer to the inside was the place to be that day and Jason Holder had Peterzano box-seating the fence in between an on/off pace position. They ran along with Peterzano wanting to do more while fresh as the leader opened a break into the straight. Peterzano kept coming and was strong to the line to finish third behind the fast-finishing McCain in a truly run race. Had Peterzano stayed to trip or be racing third-up we’d be very keen here off that run.
