BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 10 PRETENTIOUS LASS ($4)
The Greg Lesnikowski & Ryan Hannemann trained PRETENTIOUS LASS can shake the mud lark moniker with a win on Wednesday. Both of her wins have been over this track and distance at Gawler Racecourse, and both have been in heavy going. We’re confident that this mare has genuine city-winning ability, and this race is probably just a shade back from that class. Pretentious Lass comes out of the race where we black booked Bonnie Gangster when she won last start at Morphettville. Pretentious Lass gave them all a big start on the soft 6 track before getting home late for second place. We rate the strength of that race with this being a big drop in grade.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 1 ENLIST ($3.75)
Murray Bridge trainer Matthew Seyers brings ENLIST to Gawler Racecourse on Sunday where the horse is already a track and distance winner. Enlist got a long way back off them last start when racing over 1400 metres at Balaklava. May Be Fate and Connemara Queen chased the tearaway leader to fight the finish out amongst themselves. Enlist was the horse making ground out after them in a race where they ran time. Should think the step-up in trip to 1700 metres will suit as Seyers finds a race back in class for Enlist.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5 No. 4 TICKETY BOOM ($13)
Time to see what TICKETY BOOM can produce at Gawler Racecourse on Wednesday. Made some noise with a couple of jumpout wins prior to his debut run at Murray Bridge last prep. There were a few happy SA based punters collecting a nice paycheck as Teagan Voorham brought Tickety Boom over the top of them with a well-timed run. Has put two good runs together since returning from a spell, including a good second in what will be a strong form race two runs back. Perhaps a shade disappointing last start as trainer Kristi Evans sent her horse around in metro grade. Still finding out where he’s at, and perhaps Tickety Boom is looking for a bend to kick off rather than the straight run at Gifford Hill.
