Race 4 No. 18 SEVEN SECRETS – ($10)

Lack of early race pressure may see Jason Holder send SEVEN SECRETS forward from an outside draw. The fourth emergency gains a start due to overnight scratching’s and can improve on his first-up run at Murray Bridge. He jumped sharply under Stubby who asked the horse to come back from their wide gate that day. This was a strong 3yo race for a midweek event and they seemed to just stack through the middle stages. Seven Secrets got into his work to hit the line strongly over the 1000 metres. Trailed aplomb under Holder who refused to allow his mount to stride out freely. Seven Secrets has shown speed during his previous runs and may appreciate a more comfortable tempo here.

Race 3 No. 11 PRANCING COUNTESS – ($3.90)

Rose Pearson was able to slide a bit closer on PRANCING COUNTESS as Scott Westover got his filly out to a mile last time. She travelled sweetly at Murray Bridge before becoming tightened for her run near the top of the straight. This allowed today’s rival Bywaters Road to give her the slip as Pearson searched for runs. Rebel Consortium built momentum for a comfortable win over the tiring Bywaters Road with Prancing Countess closing off behind them. Jason Holder takes the ride and can give Prancing Countess a charmed run from their inside gate.

Race 6 No. 3 SALUTE THE STARS – ($5.50)

Strathalbyn trainer Emma Hubbard upped the ante with SALUTE THE STARS, trying her hand in town. Salute The Stars ran a cheeky race under Kayla Crowther in the Benchmark over 1950 metres on the Parks track. He kept coming to the line to just miss the placings to suggest there may be more city races on his program. Nothing went right for him last time as Salute The Stars tracked 3WNC the entire in the Listed 2500 metre Port Adelaide Cup. We’ll put a line through that last run and go on previous form which earned him a place in those races.
