BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 7 No. 7 KING’S TAJ – ($4)

KING’S TAJ should be hard to beat in Race 7 of the day at Geelong. The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained galloper took a bit of time to get going in his career but might have put it together and was dominant when taking out his maiden at Seymour on April 27 over the 1300m. He settled back in the field of nine before rounding them up and clearing out to a three length win. He went 0.7 lengths slower than standard in that race, which is four lengths better than the next best last start benchmark figures of any runner. A firmer in the early betting, he will be ridden by Robbie Downey, who strikes at 29% for the stable. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 3 No 1 ASPIRING BAY – ($4.60)

ASPIRING BAY can go a couple of spots better than a debut effort that saw him finish runner-up at Werribee on April 15. The Busuttin/Young galloper settled just worse than midfield that day over the 1629m but was posted three wide without cover. He chased well in the straight but couldn’t quite reel in Wanda’s Outlaw. The son of Preferment has attracted early support in the betting for this race and will no doubt benefit from his debut in terms of fitness. Jye McNeil rides this time around and juts needs to find a spot early on from barrier 8.
