Race 4 No. 5 OKAY CUPID – ($2.70)

OKAY CUPID can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up at Bendigo on June 29. The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper led them up that day on a Heavy deck and stuck on well over the last 100m behind Metrical. The 3rd placegetter from that has since gone on to take out her Maiden. Okay Cupid should improve off that run and there doesn’t look to be too many of these that will serve it up to him out in front for this assignment.

Race 1 No 1 CASTEL TORINO – ($3.60)

CASTEL TORINO looks cherry ripe to pick up his first career win. The Price/Kent Jnr galloper has had the five career starts for three minors and was posted wide without cover on the Pakenham Synthetic on June 20, finishing 3rd behind Tradeworx. That should top the son of Declaration Of War off nicely for this and the 2400m looks like it will only suit. Beau Mertens rides and should have no problems finding a spot in the run from barrier 3.

Race 2 No. 5 GINGER ’N’ PINK – ($3.70)

GINGER ’N’ PINK should be hard to beat in Race 2 of the day at Geelong. The Peter Moody-trained galloper was runner-up at her debut at Sale earlier this year then resumed at Caulfield on June 24, finishing 7th behind Outback Miss in a $150,000 race. The daughter of Zoustar was well supported in the betting that day and had a few things go against. She overraced early on before being held up in the straight and making some ground late, producing the fastest last 200m. We put her into the black book after that effort and can cash in for this easier affair.
