Race 8 No. 3 BREAKING GROUND- ($2.25)

BREAKING GROUND can go close in the final race of the day at Geelong. The Chris Waller-trained galloper shows a bit of promise and has run some good races behind the likes of Lindermann and Suparazi in the past. He resumed at Cranbourne on March 31 over the 1200m and was going his best work late when 3rd behind Pretty Tavi. That was off a slow tempo and the three-year-old produced the fastest last 600m to go 2.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Improvement to come at his second run back and with Jye McNeil on board, he can register a win.

Race 5 No 6 FIELDS OF JENNI – ($3.50)

FIELDS OF JENNI can be an improver in Race 5. The Andrew Noblet-trained galloper has had two career runs and was solid on debut with a 4th over the 1240m at Geelong on March 24 before heading to Ballarat and running 8th behind Starianne, beaten less than four lengths. She was never really in the hunt in that race, settling back on what was a very slow tempo. The daughter of Deep Field produced the fastest 400m-200m split before the lack of early pace told in the end. Wouldn’t mind seeing her settle a bit closer this time around and back at Geelong she can give this a shake
