Race 7 No. 3 WHIRLY JIG- ($3.9)

WHIRLY JIG is worth a bit of thought in Race 7 of the afternoon. The four-year-old was outclassed at Flemington two starts ago in a BenchMark 84 when 8th behind Mimi’s Award then dropped down to a BM64 at Geelong on June 16, running 7th behind Cru Classe. He was posted wide without cover in that race and was forced to make an early move, looming up at the 400m before just fading late. The Ken & Kasey Keys-trained galloper drops in grade and with a bit of a softer run he can be a threat at the business end of the 2470m.

Race 3 No 9 SOME SHEILA- ($4.85)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for SOME SHEILA The Charlotte Littlefield-trained galloper has had the three career runs and has never finished further back than 4th. She comes in with two minor placings under her belt and looked the winner at Kilmore two starts ago before being run down late by Triples, while Gemstar was 3rd. That horse went on to win at Werribee. Some Sheila then stepped out at Mornington and was back on a slow tempo before working home well for 3rd behind Von Hauke in a race that has provided a couple of winners. The daughter of Artie Schiller draws perfectly in barrier 4 and gets her chance.
