BEST BET 🏆   

Race 4 No. 4 WESTOZI – ($3.30)

Local horseman Albert Bowtell has WESTOZI ticking over nicely and ready to put two wins together at his fourth run back. Westozi usually takes a run to find his best which saw him go very close to winning second-up. Troy Turner had him up following the leader ARABIAN RICHES at a fast tempo. Turner kept at Westozi to put paid to the inside horse who had hoisted the white flag inside the furlong. Westozi looked home and hosed only to have Chix Chatter get to him in the shadows of the post. Bowtell had his horse spot-on with Wayne Davies affording the horse a good run on the speed when stepping up to 1400 metres third-up. Davies switched him back to the inside to open a winning break inside the furlong and the pair should find a good run in transit once again.

Race 2 No. 2 STAY ASTERN – ($6)

The locally prepared galloper STAY ASTERN caught the eye when resuming here over 1113 metres. Stay Astern wasn’t the sharpest into stride with Natasha Faithfull allowing her mount to find his feet towards the rear of the field. She brought Stay Astern to the outside of the track with the horse rattling home to just miss the photo. That was an impressive run against a leader dominated pattern of the day, prompting the punters to send him out into the red over 1400 metres at his next start. Stay Astern did find some trouble in the straight to run third before making some headway over this track and trip last start. Julia Martin makes the change as Austin Galati comes into the saddle with Stay Astern ready coming into this at his fourth run back.

Race 8 No. 9 GLASS OFF – ($7.50)

It is expected to see Peter Knuckey roll forward to give GLASS OFF every opportunity from a handy draw in the last on Wednesday. Glass Off gave a great sight when aided by the claim from Zephen Johnston-Porter who allowed his horse to roll along in front. The pair were still clear approaching the furlong before What A Prince and Yes Miss Jane both loomed large. Glass Off dug deep to make the former earn his win inside the last 100 metres, while comfortably holding the  challenge of the latter over the concluding stages.
