BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.8  ESSESNTIAL SKY  ($3.90 with Ladbrokes)

The John Sargent-trained ESSENTIAL SKY sees the Gosford track for the first time and coming off a couple of city runs, looks better placed here and should play a major role in this contest. Last start, the Reliable Man mare put in a bold performance when finishing just behind the placegetters in a Midway BM72 Hcp over the Randwick mile. She ran the trip out, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here behind Twice On Sunday and a new personal best for the mare. She also posted the fastest final 200m sectional for that race. Rachel King was aboard that day and sticks with her here. Ideally drawn in gate three, she maps to settle mid-field and facing country class here, she will take beating today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1:  No.4  NAUTICAL MISS  ($5.50 with Unibet)

Kembla Grange galloper NAUTICAL MISS has finished on the podium in her past four starts and second-up today, looks well placed in the small field to make it happen again. Last start, the Ocean Park mare was fresh off a five-month absence when she broke through for her Maiden win over 1400m on her home track. She covered the last 600m, 4.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths. She steps-up to the mile today and has Scott Pollard remaining aboard after steering her to that maiden win. She draws the outside gate today and maps to settle near the back. She placed when second-up last preparation and the extra trip here looks ideal for her now. With a clear run home, she can give this a real shake today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.1  ALL GIRLS  ($9 with BlueBet)

Warwick Farm-based galloper ALL GIRLS is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest she is a genuine chance for victory today. Last start, the Not A Single Doubt mare was fresh off an 11-week spell when she beat home a BM66 field over 1000m at Scone. She ran her last 600m, 2.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Zac Lloyd has the reins for the first time and his claim (1.5kgs) can only help the mares cause. She has won at this track previously and is a two-time winner when second up. All three of her career wins have come on rain affected tracks so conditions here look ideal. Nicely drawn in gate five, if she finds clean air in the run home, she can give this a real fright today at odds.
