The John Sargent-trained TREIZE hit the ground running when resuming and looks the benchmark in this contest today. Last start, the Kermadec mare was fresh off a six-month break when she led from barrier to box in a BM64 over 1250m on Randwick’s Kensington course. With apprentice Molly Bourke at the helm, she fought off a challenge as they turned and held on well to score a good win on fresh legs. Taking on country competition today, she draws nicely in gate three and should be leading them again. Bourke sticks with her for this assignment and already a winner when second-up, she will take some beating here.

Race 3:  No.3  COMMUNITY  ($2.40 with bet365)

The Kim Waugh-trained COMMUNITY is as honest as the day is long and deserves a change of luck today. Last start, the Scissor Kick gelding was third-up and recorded his fourth podium finish when he beat all but one home in a set weights Maiden, here over the 1600m trip. He drew the outside gate (10) that day which saw Keagan Latham ease him back to the tail of the field. He turned the widest of them and finished strongly to cross the line within a length of the winner. Waugh puts over more ground today where he gets the gun-run form gate one and has Latham backing-up for his third ride on the four-year-old. Rock-hard fit and at his peak today, he can break through here.

Race 4:  No.5  ANGARA  ($4.80 with BlueBet)

Paul Perry saddles-up ANGARA here who is four starts into this campaign and returning to the country scene, looks well placed to give this contest a real shake today. Last start, the Frankel gelding struggled a little on the rain affected track over the 1350m trip as he tried to lead all the way but weakened to miss out on a podium finish. Carrying 58.5kgs, he drew the car park in gate 11 and used up some early fuel to cross and lead. That took its toll on him as he dropped out inside the final 200m. A smaller field here and better drawn in gate six, he also drops back to the 1200m today which should see him settle on speed. Peaking today after those four starts this time in, he should give us a bold sight in this contest.
