BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.8  REET PETITE  ($2.60 with BoomBet)

The Keith Dryden-trained REET PETITE has made a solid start to her career and looks well placed here to improve even further today. Last start, the Rubick mare went one better than her debut effort when she broke through for her maiden win over 1400m at Canberra. Sent out a white-hot $1.30 favourite, those who took the skinny odds weren’t disappointed as she clobbered them over the final 200m to go on and win by 1.5 lengths on the line. This is a little tougher but she comes in on the limit here, meeting most of these much better at the weights and winning form is good form. Jack Martin remains aboard and perfectly drawn in gate two, she should prove hard hold out again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.9  GREBENI  ($4 with Ladbrokes)

Rosehill visitor, GREBENI, is second-up here and facing a much easier task today. Last start, the Ocean Park gelding was fresh off a 15-week spell when he finished unplaced in the Silver Eagle over 1300m at Randwick. He drew wide that day (11 of 14), and settled near last, travelling three-wide most of the trip. The four-year-old was also diagnosed as suffering from heat stress after the race. Today, he makes his Goulburn debut and has Kerrin McEvoy aboard for this assignment who is two from two with the gelding. Also unbeaten when second-up, he draws much better in gate four and we can expect a big improvement from him today. A trouble-free run should see him hard to best in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.5  FAIRNESS IS BEST  ($7.60 with BoomBet)

Local galloper, FAIRNESS IS BEST, is in great touch this time in and looks set to make things hard for his opposition here today. Last start, the Press Statement gelding scored his second win in three starts when he took care of a BM58 over 1425m at Moruya. Louise Day steered him to his maiden win three starts back and returns for this assignment. Ideally drawn in gate four, he looks a serious player in this contest at odds today.
