Race 2:  No.1  LONRIOLI  ($2.50 with Ladbrokes)

Team Freedman saddle-up LONRIOLI here who is third-up today and looking to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Warwick Farm. Last start, the Lonhro filly came off a first-up win at Kembla Grange (on a heavy track) when she took on a BM64 Hcp over 1100m at the Farm. She soon found out that city competition is a little harder and after box-seating to the turn, weakened out of it to finish down the track that day. Just one start here saw her break through for a Maiden win (over 1300m) where she put four lengths on them. Back to where it all began today, her early gate speed has her settling in the first half-dozen and already a winner when third-up and a winner here over this trip, she looks the goods here.

Race 3:  No.5  LICHESTER  ($3.10 with Picklebet)

The Joe Pride-trained LICHESTER is third-up today and looks well placed for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Irish-bred filly found her feet quickly when second-up, she broke through for her Maiden win over 1300m on a Heavy 8 at Kembla Grange. Jay Ford settled her at the front of the field and after yielding the lead, fought back strongly to take out the event by a length on the line. She shifted out badly in the run home that day but still showed enough fight to collect the major prize in the end. She is stepping up in distance here but will strip even fitter for those two runs back. Ford sticks with her today and from gate five, she maps to settle in the first half dozen. She looks a promising filly and will surely play a role in the finish.

Race 8:  No.12  PRETTY EXTREME  ($9.50 with Neds) 

Wagga-based galloper PRETTY EXTREME has improved out of sight since changing stables and although seeing the Goulburn track for the first time today, her recent form suggests she can give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Extreme Choice mare came off a first-up win at Wagga when she stepped-up to Class 2 company and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third over the 1000m sprint at Canberra. She was trapped wide to the turn which cost her dearly as she joined the leaders on straightening but weakened over the final 100m, still hanging on to that bronze medal for her efforts. In a late riding change, Nick Heywood returns for his second ride on the mare today (after his original mount, Master Joe, was an early scratching),. The stable have also decided to remove the blinkers for the first time. In great touch this time in and fitter for those two runs back, she looks a genuine chance here at odds today.
