Last start, the Falkirk gelding resumed off an eight-month absence and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a BM64 over 1400m on his home track. Andrew Calder is in the saddle today with the seven-year-old boasting a win at the track and distance. Already a two-time winner when second-up, He will be there at the finish.

Race 6:  No.1  PROMISING PROSPECT  ($4.20 with Unibet)

Amanda Turner saddles-up PROMISING PROSPECT here who is fresh off a nine-week let-up and has strong claims to break through today. Last start, the Capitalist gelding tried to lead all the way but was grabbed by one better on the day, leaving him with second-prize, here in a 1600m Maiden. That made it three-straight podium finishes for that campaign. Shaun Guymer sticks with him today where he is yet to miss a podium finish on the track. If he finds the front and is left alone, he can dictate the pace and could prove hard to run down.

The Gratz Vella-trained ONYA LIONAL is second-up today and looks well placed here to give this a real shake. Last start, the Delago Deluxe gelding came from behind to arrive in time for third prize in Open company over 1000m on a Heavy 10 at Canberra. Quayde Krogh returns for his seventh ride on the horse after claiming four minor prizes and still looking for that first win on the six-year-old. He maps to settle just behind the speed today and placed twice from three previous second-up appearances, he can go one better here.
