Armidale galloper KRISTITHEGREAT has had just three race starts to date but shown enough to suggest she is a big chance at going back-to-back today. Last start, the Extreme Choice mare made it third time lucky when she broke through for her maiden win, here over 1725m. Mikayla Weir was aboard that day and sticks with the mare for this assignment. After scratchings, she has the inside draw today and maps to settle mid-field with cover. Stepping up in distance will suit now and rock-hard fit from those three runs and already a winner at the track, she should prove hard to beat here.

Race 8: No.4 WONDERLAND STAR ($9 with Bet Right)
Matt Dunn saddles-up WONDERLAND STAR here who is in great touch this time in and looks a genuine winning chance at odds today. Last start, the Brave Smash filly came off an impressive maiden win at Ballina and striking bad luck in the run, did well to beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1526m at Lismore. This looks no harder as Ash Morgan returns for his third ride on the three-year-old. Ideally drawn in gate two, she maps to settle back in the field and hopefully avoid any dramas back there. With a clear run to the line, she will be rock-hard fit and steaming home late. An each-way ticket looks the go here.

Race 3: No.4 FRANKLIN CORNERS ($12.40 with BoomBet)
Locally-trained by Jason Reilly, FRANKLIN CORNERS is second-up today and ticking all the best boxes, looks a tad ‘overs’ today and could surprise in this contest. Last start, the Unencumbered gelding was fresh off a 14-week spell and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth in the Jacaranda Prelude, here over 1120m. That was Zac Wadick’s fifth ride on the seven-year-old and he pilot’s the gelding again today. Already a winner when second-up and a two-time winner on his home track, he looks great value here and well worth an each-way ticket today.
