Race 4:  No.7  SUPER IMPRESSIVE

Colt Prosser saddles-up SUPER IMPRESSIVE here who has lived up to his name this time in and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Smart Missile filly came off her Maiden win at Ballina when she franked that effort by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Armidale. Ridden a treat by Ben Looker, she settled just behind the speed and simply finished too strong for them in the end. Both wins came on rain affected tracks so the conditions here should suit the three-year-old. Looker sticks with her for this contest and given a trouble-free run, she looks hard to hold out today.

Race 6:  No.9  INTENTIONAL LASS

It’s been almost 12 months since INTENTIONAL LASS tasted victory on the track but the Matt Dunn-trained mare looks well placed here to make it happen today. Last start, the Pierro mare suffered an injury during the race but still managed to finish fourth in a Class 1 Hcp (against city-class company) over 1600m at Eagle Farm. Never on the track and suffering an off-hock injury, Andrew Mallyon did well to get her within 1.5 lengths of the winner that day. She should find this contest a lot easier today and gets the gun-run from gate one, hopefully avoiding any barrier-rise incidents. Matty McGuren is legged aboard for his second ride on the four-year-old and with a clear run to the line, she can get the job done today.

Race 1:  No.4  KAPSALI 

The Brett Dodson-trained KAPSALI is in great touch this time in and third-up today looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the well-bred More Than Ready gelding came off a first-up win at Coffs Harbour when he had no at Taree but still managed to take home third prize in a BM82 over 1600m. Both runs were on heavy tracks with Luke Rolls as the pilot. The five-year-old is a real mud-lark with five of his six career wins all coming on wet tracks so conditions here will be right up his alley. He does no early work from gate one and Rolls remains in the saddle for this assignment. Already a winner when third-up and a two-time winner at the track, he looks the one to beat.
