Race 2:  No.2  SUMMONS

The Warwick Farm-based SUMMONS returns to Kembla for another crack at it and second-up today, looks well placed to break through in this contest. Last start, the Almanzor gelding left the Chris Waller stable and after a 22-week break, had his first start for Jarrod Austin where he did well to beat all but one home in a 1400m Maiden, here on a Heavy 8 that day. While beaten half a length on the day, he put more than three lengths between himself and the rest of them in the event. Jessica Taylor was aboard that day and steers the ship again for this assignment. He shows a liking to the wet tracks so conditions today really suit. Fitter for that first-up effort, he looks right in the mix here.

Race 7:  No.7  JOINT MISSION

The Brad Widdup-trained JOINT MISSION is second-up today and looks set for back-to-back success in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Pierro filly resumed off a lengthy six-month absence but showing no signs of fatigue, finished well enough to break through for her Maiden victory, here over 1400m. On a Heavy 8 that day, she led from barrier to box, holding off the challenges to land the bacon with Rory Hutchings in the saddle. Now a winner at the track ,she is one from one in wet conditions as well and should thrive on Heavy 10 today. Hutchings steers the ship again and from gate five, maps to be on or near the speed as they settle. Even fitter for that first-up victory, she looks well placed here to give this a real shake today.

Race 6:  No.10  NOVEMBER FALLS 

Mitchell Beer saddles-up NOVEMBER FALLS here who is first-up off a five-month break and boasting a strong fresh record, looks a serious contender in this contest. Last start, the Sacred Falls mare ended her last campaign in sad state as she was pulled-up in the run home suffering a cardiac issue, here in a BM64 Hcp on a Good 4 that day. That was her second race-start on a dry track and the second time she came home at the rear of the field. Angus Villiers was aboard in her recent trial at Nowra (where she finished third) and was happy enough to take the reins here today. She gets the gun-run from gate one today where she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. All three career-wins to date have come on wet tracks so she should soak up the Heavy 10 conditions here. She is already a two-time winner when resuming and with a trouble-free run here, she looks a real each-way chance today.
