BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.2  ABRAZEN LAUGH  ($4.80 with Palmerbet

Local galloper, ABRAZEN LAUGH, has improved with each run this time in and fourth-up today, looks ready to win. Last start, the Brazen Beau gelding looked set for a third-up win but was grabbed late by a swooper and had to settle for second prize in a Class 3 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. Today, he drops sharply in grade and has Zac Wadick back aboard who brings a 1.5kg claim with him. Four previous starts on his home track has produced a win and two minor money finishes and rock-hard fit after three runs back, he should prove a hard nut to crack in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.7  MISS SHEAF  ($4.60 with Ladbrokes)

The Steven Wise-trained MISS SHEAF is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Choisir mare was second-up and having just her third career race-start when she broke through for her maiden win over 860m at Gatton. The Murwillumbah galloper drew the fence that day and was last out of the gates but recovered to settle mid-field early. On the turn, she was right on the leader’s heels and half way down the straight, took over and went on to win by a length on the line. That was her second run for the Wise stable, (formerly with Mark Newnham) and just her second run off a lengthy 92-week absence. She looks to have plenty of upside about her and today has Matty McGuren as the pilot. She gets all the favours again, drawing the one gate and even fitter after two runs back, she looks just the ticket here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.11  ENTERPRISE LUCIA  ($4.65 with BoomBet

Trained locally by John Shelton, ENTERPRISE LUCIA is in top shelf form this preparation and at the weights here, looks a genuine winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Divine Prophet filly found the podium for the third-straight time by finally breaking through for her maiden win and she did it in style. Sent out a white-hot $1.40 elect, she matched strides with Mawsons Expedition and eventually go the better of him and crossed the line 1.5 lengths clear of the field. Three starts back now, she should be at her peak for this and has Ben Looker sticking with her for this assignment. She maps to settle near mid-field and at the top of her game, a clear run to the line again should see her hard to beat today.
