BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.2  SIR RAVANELLI  ($1.55 with Palmerbet)

His biggest threat was scratched overnight, now the path to victory looks all paved for the Terry Evans-trained SIR RAVANELLI today. Last start, the Iffraaj gelding was third-up when he franked his second-up win by going back-to-back in a BM85 over 1100m on this track. Regular rider, Darryl Mc Lellan, made it win number eight (from ten rides) on the six-year-old as he made 59.5kgs look like child’s play, crossing the line 1.5 lengths ahead of the ten-strong field. He has gate two today and maps to be box-seating on settling. Unbeaten in six-starts at the track and two-from-two at the track and distance, it will take a smart one (or just bad luck) to deny him taking out this event. He is skinny with the bagmen, but a worthy addition to your multis today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1:  No.3  KRISTITHEGREAT  ($3.10 with Ladbrokes)

Armidale galloper, KRISTITHEGREAT likes racing here and third-up today looks a great chance of landing the hat-trick in this contest. Last start, the Extreme Choice mare made it back-to-back wins when she franked her first victory (Maiden) at this track by repeating the dose as she fought back to beat home a Class 1 field over 2200m, after clearly being headed half-way down the home straight. Mikayla Weir has been on board for her past three starts and sticks with her today. If she can cross from gate seven and settle early, she is line for three-straight here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.10 ROSE BETWEEN THORN  ($8.50 with bet365)

Local galloper, ROSE BETWEEN THORN, has found her mojo after three runs back from a 17-week break and this looks a golden opportunity for her to crack it over the mile for the first time. Last start, the Spieth mare came off an unlucky second in a 1400m Maiden (here) when she cracked it for her first win over 1410m and did it with ease in the end. She drew wide in gate 11 (of 13) and had to do it from the rear of the field. She came wide on the turn and let-loose, overpowering them in the run home and put almost two lengths on them in the process. She gets the gun-run today from gate one and with Ben Looker back in the saddle, she looks to settle mid-field with cover. A clear run to the line today could see her going back-to-back at odds today.
