Race 5: No.4 JACKYY DEE ($9 with Bet Right)
The Damien Lane-trained JACKYY DEE is in top-shelf form this time in and his first look at the Gunnedah track today could be a winning one. Last start, the Pluck gelding made it two wins from his past three runs when he recovered from a bad start and arrive in time to grab first prize in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at Goulburn. He meets similar company here and has Clay Gallagher on board as a late replacement rider for today’s assignment. At his peak after four starts this preparation, he looks right in the mix here at odds.

Race 7: No.11 HOT WOK ($7 with Palmerbet)
Muswellbrook galloper HOT WOK is in career-best form this preparation and looks well placed here to go on with it at odds today. Last start, the Churchill gelding broke a hat-trick of minor placings when he finally broke through for his maiden win over the mile at Taree. With regular rider Darryl McLellan aboard, he led from barrier to box carrying 59kgs in the event, holding off all challenges from the 12-strong field. He maps to take up the front running again here and has McLellan sticking with him as well. He drops 2kgs for the assignment and should give us a bold sight in the contest.

Race 6: No.10 AH WELL ($21.50 with BoomBet)
One at odds here is the Moree galloper AH WELL who is third-up today and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can give this contest a real fright at good each-way odds. Last start, the Dream Ballad mare was second-up when she found the podium by finishing third in the Mungindi Cup over 1400m. Apprentice, Jacob Golden had his tenth ride on the mare that day, and his fourth time on the podium with the six-year-old. Golden sticks with her today where she drops 4kgs for this assignment. She is already a winner at the track and a two-time winner when third-up and a trouble-free run here could see her make things real interesting at the finish.
