The Andrew Dale-trained SHEILA is in good touch this time in and looks well placed here to make her track debut a winning one today. Last start, the Adelaide mare took home third prize in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Corowa. After a slow start, she recovered well enough to settle mid-field but using up the early fuel took its toll as she finished 1.5 lengths behind the winner that day. She has been consistent this preparation with top-five finishes in all six starts and if she can jump away with them today, she can give this contest a real shake.

Race 2: No.12 THIS IS THE MOMENT ($6.50 with Palmerbet)

Mitch Beer saddles-up THIS IS THE MOMENT here who is having his fourth race-start today and looks well placed to break through for his first win. Two starts back, the Toronado gelding finished second (of 14) in a 1400m Maiden, here on a Heavy 10 that day. Then last start, he had to settle for third prize at Narrandera after a tough run from the outside gate (10) over the mile trip. He drops 3.5kgs today as he tackles the 1600m again and with conditions to suit, he lines-up here a major player for the spoils today.

The Berrigan-based galloper MOMMA SMASH chalked-up her first victory in 15 months at Tatura and with similar conditions today, is capable of a forward showing at big odds in this contest. Last start, the Statue Of Liberty mare gave connections a real treat when she was first past the post in a BM52 Hcp over 1100m on a Heavy 10. With Bradley Vale in the saddle, she relished the heavy going and came from mid-field to finish too strong for them, going on to win by a length on the line. With four starts behind her this time in, she should be at her peak for this assignment and already a two-time winner in Heavy 10 conditions, she looks a real threat at juicy each-way odds today.
