BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.4  TAKANAKUY  ($3.25 with BoomBet)

The Melissa Dennett-trained TAKANAKUY is high-flying this time in and she looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Outreach mare made it three-straight top-two finishes when she easily accounted for a BM58 over 1000m at Gosford. Settling just behind the speed, Aaron Bullock eased her out and near the turn and finished best to score by 1.5 lengths on the line. Braith Nock is the new pilot today and after his claim, the five-year-old carries the same weight here. She gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be box-seating on settling. If the waves part on the turn again, we could see a déjà vu performance today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.6  MORE FOR US  ($2.90 with Neds)

The Stirling Osland-trained MORE FOR US is in top-shelf form this preparation and with runs on the board, looks set to make it five-straight top-two finishes today. Last start, the Speith gelding came off his maiden win at Tamworth and stepping up to a BM58, beat all but one home in the 1615m event at Coffs Harbour. Mikayla Weir has been on the four-year-old for his past four starts and has a win and three runner-up finishes with him on her resume as she sticks with him again. He maps to settle mid-field from gate seven and at his peak after four runs back, he will prove hard to hold out here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.3  ZOUNILE  ($9.50 with Ladbrokes)

Clint Lundholm saddles-up ZOUNILE here who is shooting for her seventh-straight podium finish today and has enough boxes ticked to suggest she is big chance of achieving that goal in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar mare brought up career-win number three when she hung on for a tight win in BM50 company over the mile at Gilgandra. Allocated 62.5kgs for the race, she stalked the leader that day and rounding the turn, took over and then fought off the challengers to land the bacon. Apprentice, Zoe Hunt has been with the mare for her past five starts and boasts a strong record herself, recording two wins and three minor placings in the process. Hunt sticks with the five-year-old today and maps to be just behind the speed from gate five. With a trouble-free run today, she can give this field a real fright at odds.
