Race 4 No. 3 FRANKFURT ($2.30) 

FRANKFURT gets his chance in Race 4. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained gelding has had the four career starts for two minor placings and resumed with a 3rd at Geelong on January 28 behind Luijika. He led and ducked out at the 100m, losing ground before finishing a length away. Blinkers go on the son of Santos for the first time.

Race 6 No. 4 SACRED EAGLE ($3.30) 

SACRED EAGLE can be an improver in Race 6. He didn’t do much when resuming with an 8th at Sandown over the unsuitable 1200m but drops back to BenchMark 58 and the extra 200m brings him right into it. Second up at his last preparation, he improved five lengths on benchmark figures when stepping up in trip, finishing runner-up at Geelong. Dean Yendall rides and strikes at 26% for the stable.

Race 3 No. 5 RUNAWAY SOUL ($4.60) 

RUNAWAY SOUL can go close at his second career start. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper made his debut last September at Warrnambool over the 1000m and stuck on ok for 4th behind Plenty Of Ammo, who has since gone on to win his next three with a couple of those by big margins. Runaway Soul went four lengths slower than standard benchmark that day and only one runner in this race has produced a better figure in their careers. He has been gelded in the interim and produced a neat trial when close up at Geelong.
