BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.5  GOLDEN PASSPORT  ($4.05 with BoomBet)

The Waterhouse & Bott Team saddle-up GOLDEN PASSPORT here who is high-flying after two starts back and looks set to go on with it today. Last start, the Sebring gelding came off a first-up (Maiden) win at Muswellbrook when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp at Wyong where he stepped-up to the mile trip. Sitting behind the leader, he took over soon after straightening but found one better and was claimed late. Drawn nicely in gate four here, he maps to settle in the first half dozen and even fitter for two runs back now, he should prove hard to conquer today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.5  CRAZY RUSSIAN  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Team Hawkes-trained CRAZY RUSSIAN is third-up today and back in familiar territory, he looks set to play major role in the outcome of this contest. Last start, the Russian Revolution gelding stepped-up in grade where he took on a BM64 Hcp where the fast pace got the better of him, finishing unplaced in the 1400m event. He comes back to Hawkesbury today where his only start here was his maiden win over 1300m two starts back. Tyler Schiller rode him that day and is reunited with the galloper here. Nicely drawn in gate four today, he maps to settle near the speed and fitter for those two runs back, he should be a major contender here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No.10  LINGUEE  ($9.60 with BoomBet)

The Kim Waugh-trained LINGUEE is also third-up today and showing plenty of improvement, looks set take it one step further in this contest. Last start, the Panzer Division mare was trapped wide soon after jumping and gave Jay Ford no choice but to push forward and lead on settling. He set sail for home with a nice break but the early work too it’s toll and he was grabbed late by a couple of swoopers who sent her home with third prize that day. She looks better placed here in gate six where she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. Ford sticks with her for this assignment and (currently) at generous each-way odds, she looks well worth a ticket here.
