Race 8:  No.12  HAVA NAGEELA  ($3.60 with Bet Right)

Frankie Lor saddles-up two runners here as we run with HAVA NAGEELA who looks the better winning chance at the weights tonight. Last start, the Irish-sired gelding made it back-to-back wins when he clobbered a Class 3 field, here on the all-weather track. Ridden an absolute treat by Silvestre De Sousa, he crossed to sit outside the leader at the starts, and from mid-race onwards, always had his measure. He took over on straightening and went on to record a solid win, putting two lengths on them in the end. He steps-up to Class 2 company tonight but drops 6.5kgs in the process which should prove to be an advantage here. De Sousa remains aboard for tonight’s assignment and with a good draw in gate five, he looks well up to this grade.

Race 7:  No.4  ADEFILL  ($4.80 with bet365)

Ricky Yiu saddles-up ADEFILL here who is an all-weather track specialist and despite the wide draw here, can make an impact in this event tonight. Last start, the Deep Field gelding was shooting for four-straight dirt-track victories when he was trapped wide most of the way and had to settle for third money that day. With Karis Teetan aboard, he fought on strongly and never gave up, hanging onto that bronze medal position in the end. He can cross early with his good gate-speed here as Teetan sticks with him after steering the four-year-old to all three career wins to date. In career-best form now, he has strong claims on the all-weather track again.

Race 6:  No.1  WINNING ICEY  ($7.50 with bet365)

The Caspar Fownes-trained WINNING ICEY has 11 podium finishes from 14 career-starts on his resume and looks all set here to add another one to the tally. Last start, the Hinchinbrook gelding broke the run of minor placings with a last stride win in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Happy Valley. Settling second-last (eight lengths off the pace), Luke Ferraris shook him up just before the turn and he showed great strength to go on with it from there to arrive in time to claim the major prize. This is just his second look at the all-weather track at Sha Tin after finishing second here six starts back on the dirt. He gets the gun-run from gate one tonight as Ferraris sticks with him, in search of his fourth victory with the four-year-old. A repeat of his last-start effort here should see him right in the mix.
