Race 7: No.4 DANCING CODE ($2 with bet365)

The Caspar Fownes-trained DANCING CODE has finished on the podium in six of his seven race starts and making his Happy Valley debut tonight, looks well placed to make his debut a winning one. Last start, the Panzer Division gelding was fresh off a 13-week spell when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Sha Tin. That was just his second start on Hong Kong soil after transferring across from Australia (where he was trained by Kris Lees under the name of Wardaddy). Ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and with a clear run to the line, he should prove hard to beat.

Race 8: No.9 ROMANTIC LAOS ($2.50 with bet365)

Jamie Richards saddles-up ROMANTIC LAOS here who is in great touch of late and looks set to keep his good form going here. Last start, the Pins gelding made it two from three when he proved too good for them in a Class 4 Hcp over 1600m at his second start on this track. He carried 61kgs that night with Zac Purton aboard who is sticking with him here. He steps up to Class 2 company tonight but drops 5.5kgs for the contest. Purton holds a 23% success rate with the Richards stable and surely just bad luck deprives him of another victory here.

Race 5: No.4 EASON ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The Frankie Lor-trained EASON has won two of his past three runs and looks all set here to have another throw at the stumps tonight. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding bounced back to the winner’s circle when he came from the back of the pack to arrive in time and claim the first prize in a Class 2, here over 1200m. The pace was a cracker as he stopped the clock at 1:09.5 for the trip. Alex Badel has saluted twice on him now and sticks with him here. He draws to do no early work and is expected to settle near mid-field with cover. He seems to have found his mojo this campaign and looks more than capable of a repeat performance here.
