Race 6:  No.6  SEASONS WIT  ($2.05 with Bet Right)

The Jamie Richards-trained SEASON’S WIT has finished on the podium in seven of his eight career starts to date and looks set to keep that trend going tonight. Last start, the Capitalist gelding was having his third start on Hong Kong soil when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. He ran his last 600m, 6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last start effort in this field. Zac Purton has ridden him in all three Hong Kong starts and sticks with him here. He draws perfectly in gate three and should enjoy a trail just behind the speed. Rock-hard fit here, he will take beating in this contest.

Race 8:  No.3  MAGNIAC  ($3.20 with bet365)

Richards and Purton team-up again here with MAGNIAC who found his mojo last start and looks in line for back-to-back wins tonight. Last start, the Lucky Street gelding was having just his second-start at the Happy Valley track when he broke through for his first Hong Kong win. Lining-up in a Class 3 Hcp, he gave the 10-strong field a galloping lesson, putting two lengths on them across the line with Purton on board that night. He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Now five starts into this campaign, he should be rock-hard fit and prove hard to hold out again.

Race 9:  No.10  EIGHTEEN PALMS  ($3.60 with Unibet)

The Danny Shum-trained EIGHTEEN PALMS has found the podium in four of hive five career starts to date and despite the class rise here, looks a genuine winning chance tonight. Last start, the El Roca gelding came off a poor showing at Sha Tin and turned it all around, winning a Class 4 Hcp over the 1650m trip back in this track. Crossing the line more than a length in front of the 13-strong field, he ran the trip out, 3.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, just 1 length slower than the best here, set by Winning Dragon who has to carry more weight tonight. Vince Ho has been with the four-year-old for his past two starts and sticks with him here. He has finished top-three in all four starts, here over the 1650m trip and looks set to keep that record intact tonight.
