The Danny Shum-trained SUPER LEGENDS has his third career-start today and looks set threaten for victory again. Last start, the Brave Smash colt came off a Class 4 win on debut when he did well to beat all but one home in similar company, carrying 5kgs more. He finished two lengths behind the winner but managed to finish ahead of the other 12 runners that day. Fitter for those two runs today, James McDonald is legged aboard for his first ride on the three-year-old and maps well from gate five. With a trouble-free run today, he should prove more than just competitive in this contest.

Race 4:  No.2  ADEFILL  ($3.40 with Bet Right)

All-Weather track specialist, ADEFILL, is second-up today and despite a poor showing when second-up, still looks well placed here for a bold effort. Last start, the Deep Field gelding was fresh of a 19-week break when he finished third, here in a Class 3 over 1650m. That made it seven-straight podium finishes on the dirt and a fair effort over the mile on fresh legs in a 14-strong field. He will strip fitter here and he has the services of Aussie rider James McDonald who starts his Hong Kong stint today. Ideally drawn in gate four, The five-year-old looks set to put in another big performance here.

Race 7:  No.1  RED LION  ($5 with bet365)

The successful combination of John Size and Zac Purton are in action here with RED LION who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to keep his rivals on their game today. Last start, the Irish-sired gelding resumed off a four-month spell and wasted no time informing the rest he was ready rock when he beat all but one home in a Class 1, here over 1400m. Alex Badel was aboard that day who had the galloper box-seating on settling. Held up for a run, he finally saw daylight inside the final 300m and despite a strong finish, his condition gave out over the concluding stages, leaving him with the runner-up’s cheque on the day. Fitter today, Purton returns for the assignment and avoiding any trouble, he looks set to give this a real shake.
