The Tony Gollan-trained INASEC is an emergency here but due to the heavy track could secure a start here and should she line up today, the four-year-old looks a serious contender for the major prize. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom mare found the podium for the eighth time in 14 starts when she held off the challengers to take out a BM72 Hcp over 1100m at Toowoomba. Ben Thompson was aboard that day and sticks with the mare today and already a two-time winner on wet tracks, conditions look ideal for her in this contest. In great form this time in, a clear run home should see her up there challenging for the winner’s purse today.

Race 3:  No.11  EASY COMPANY  ($3.90 with BoomBet)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained EASY COMPANY has impressed in her three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to break through for her first career-win today. Last start, the American-sired filly came off an unlucky second at Doomben over 1200m when she found the podium again at Ipswich, finishing third there in another 1200m Maiden Hcp. She settled mid-field and finished strongly to grab third prize, on what was a front-runner’s day. She steps up to the 1350m trip here which after three runs this time in, looks ideal for her today. Tiff Brooker has been with her since she resumed for this campaign and with that extra distance here, she looks right in the money.

Race 4:  No.6  KALUMBURU  ($15 with bet365)

Lindsay Hatch saddles-up KALUMBURU here who is third-up today and looks in the mix for back-to-back wins today. Last start, the three-year-old was second-up and having just his third race-start when he clobbered his rivals in a 1200m Maiden at Toowoomba with Justin Stanley in the saddle. He settled outside the leader that day then turning for home, he pulled away and kept going by Stanley, put three lengths on the 11-strong field to win in a canter. Stanley sticks with him today as he steps-up to Class 1 company. Carrying the same weight today, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
