Race 6: No.10 I AM VOODOO ($3.35 with BoomBet)
The Team Edmonds-trained I AM VOODOO is in outstanding form this time in and clearly looks the one to beat here. Last start, the Hellbent gelding made it back-to-back victories when he clobbered them in a BM60 over 1050m on the synthetic track at the Gold Coast. After five-straight starts on the poly surface, he is back on turf today and joined by Ben Thompson for the first time as he also makes his Ipswich debut. Well drawn in gate six, he maps to settle just off the speed and in his current frame of mind, he shapes up as the best of the day.

Race 4: No.3 CAPITAL REIGN ($6 with bet365)
Trained at Toowoomba by Mark Goodwin, CAPITAL REIGN is third-up today and down in grade here, looks a serious player for the major prize. Last start, the Capitalist gelding showed a ton of improvement when he took home third prize in a BM75, here over 800m with Michael Cahill in the saddle. Sitting one off the fence, behind the leading pair, he fought all the way home, beaten less than a length on the line. Four third-up appearances to date have resulted in a win and three minor placings so that box is heavily ticked today. He draws gate seven here and his early gate speed has him settling just behind the pace today. Cahill sticks with him here and with a troubler-free run, he looks the one to beat in this contest.

Race 1: No.4 ROYAL COURT ($10 with Ladbrokes)
Sunshine Coast galloper ROYAL COURT has shown plenty of promise in his first two starts this time in and looks a strong chance of rolling the odds-on favourite (Align The Planets) here. First-up, the Lonhro gelding finished second in a Maiden Hcp here over 1200m then last start, repeated that effort where he beat all but one home in a Maiden Plate over the longer 1400m trip at Dalby. He steps up to the mile today and has Dale Smith sticking with him here after steering the ship for those last two runs. He maps to settle back in the field today from gate seven and even fitter here, he can give this a real shake at odds.
