Race 6:  No.3  SHE’S UNUSUAL  ($3.40 with bet365)

The John O’Shea-trained SHE’S UNUSUAL is second-up today and conditions look ideal for her to bring up win number two here. Last start, the Unusual Suspect mare resumed from an 11-week break and having her first start for O’Shea, she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Goulburn. On debut, two starts back, she handled the Heavy 10 conditions well as she put 1.5 lengths on them in a 1400m Maiden at Awapuni (NZ). Tyler Schiller has the reins today and fitter for that first-up run, she looks the one to beat here.

Race 7:  No.3  GELATIN  ($2.80 with Ladbrokes)

Michael Freedman saddles-up GELATIN here who is second-up and ready to rock in the conditions today. Last start, the Snitzel colt was fresh off a 16-week spell when full of running, he broke through for his maiden win over 1300m on a Heavy 9 at Warwick Farm. Rory Hutchings has been the pilot for the colt’s past three starts and sticks with him for today’s assignment. He does no early work from gate one and maps to settle back in the field. With a clear run home, he should prove hard to hold out today.

Race 1:  No.8  OAKFIELD ZENA  ($6.10 with BoomBet)

The Damien Lane-trained OAKFIELD ZENA has improved with each run in her four-start career to date and looks well placed here to break through today. Last start, the Zoustar mare finally found the podium when she beat all but one home in a 1600m Maiden at Tamworth. She led from the outset and looked the goods until she grabbed right on the line by a swooper. She lines up facing the same journey but with Tyler Schiller in the saddle today. Nicely drawn in gate six, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen with some early speedsters drawn inside her here. Fitter four runs in, she can give this a real shake at odds today.
