BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.4 FIOPROSPERO ($3.60 with Ladbrokes)
Wyong galloper, FIOPROSPERO, is second-up today and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Fiorente gelding made a triumphant return to the track when he clobbered his rivals in a 1400m Maiden at Newcastle. He settled back in the field and covered plenty of extra ground as he travelled three-wide (with cover) to the turn. Tracking even wider, he simply had too many guns for them in the run home, winning by 1.5 lengths over the line. Rory Hutchings is the new rider today and bred to stay, the extra distance looks ideal here. Even fitter for one run back, he will take beating.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.1 FUTTAIM ($5 with Bet Right)
Team Hawkes saddle-up FUTTAIM here who is three starts into this campaign and dropping back in grade today, should be ready to produce his best. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding was sent out a $16 chance and did well to finish within a length of the winner in a BM64 Hcp over 2000m at Hawkesbury. Whilst that was his third-straight unplaced effort, it was a much improved run off his first two runs with Andrew Adkins deciding to remain aboard for this assignment. Already a winner when third-up, he should find this a little easier and fitter for three runs back, he can give this real shake today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.6 GOLD PATTERN ($5.50 with Bet Right)
The John Thompson-trained GOLD PATTERN is high-flying this time in and looks set for a second-straight victory today. Last start, the Pariah mare came off an impressive (first-up) second in a Class 1 on this track when she made the trip up the M1 and did best to score in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m on the Newcastle track. Keagan Latham was aboard for both rides and sticks with her today. Ideally drawn in gate four, she maps to settle just behind the speed and will strip even fitter for this assignment. The lightly-raced four-year-old has just eight starts on her resume but has found the podium on four occasions, winning two of those. She looks good value in this contest.
