BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.2  STROBING  ($4.85 with BoomBet)

Taree galloper STROBING is three starts back and has found his mojo as he lines-up here ticking enough boxes to suggest he will take beating in this contest. Last start, the Americain gelding hit his best form when third-up by taking out the Krambach Cup over the mile on his home track. Mollie Fitzgerald rode him a treat that day, box-seating to the turn, then gained the upper hand inside the final 100m and went on to record a good win. Fitzgerald sticks with him here as the five-year-old steps up in trip today which looks ideal for him now. Ideally drawn in gate three, he maps to be box-seating again and rock-hard fit off three runs, looks a prime contender here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.3  UNCAGED  ($3.10 with Ladbrokes)

The Kristen Buchanan-trained UNCAGED is third-up today and the indications are he is ready to cut loose here. Last start, the Bobby’s Kitten gelding showed a big improvement when he beat all but one home in a BM58 over 1400m at Tamworth. Koby Jennings steered the ship that day and remains aboard for this assignment. He draws well in gate five and maps to settle on the speed. Already a winner when third-up, a trouble-free run today could see him make his Kempsey debut a winning one in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.2  HAVIERON  ($7.60 with BoomBet

The Coffs Harbour-based HAVIERON and has the runs on the board to suggest he will be a force in this event. Last start, the Dundeel gelding was first-up off a lengthy six-month break when he came within a whisker of victory, taking home second prize in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m on his home track. He drew wide that day, giving Jeff Kehoe little choice but to settle him back in the field. He moved into the race near the turn and looked set to pass them by but his condition gave out in the final 50m and he was grabbed on the line. Drawn well in gate four, he maps to settle mid-field with cover. His fate is in the hands of Jon Grisedale today who is still winless on the gelding after seven rides to date. All that can change in a heartbeat here as the seven-year-old is already a winner second-up and a winner at the track and distance. He looks just the ticket at odds today.
