Race 8: No.4 SELFIE TIME ($2 with Palmerbet)
A much smaller field will contest this event after early scratchings as we run with the Jack Bruce-trained SELFIE TIME who is third-up today and looks a serious player for the major prize. Last start, the Savabeel mare was fitter for one run back when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast. She settled mid-field and passed them all, but couldn’t reel in the leader on the day. Here, she gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle just behind the speed with the experienced Ryan Wiggins on board for the first time. Placed third-up last time in, she can give this contest a real fright today.

Race 3: No.2 BAUHINIA ROCK ($2.60 with Ladbrokes)
The Chris Meagher-trained BAUHINIA ROCK should find this a lot easier and is every chance of making his first visit to Kilcoy a winning one today. Last start, the Sooboog gelding took on city class company at Doomben where he did well to finish fourth (of 11) in a Class 1 Hcp. He won his maiden at the Sunshine Coast four starts back and back to country class racing today, he looks better suited. Ideally drawn in gate three here, he is joined by Melea Castle for the first time and maps to settle just off the pace. With a trouble-free run today, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 7: No.1 ATLANTIC ROYAL ($3.20 with Picklebet)
The Sunshine Coast galloper ATLANTIC ROYAL is four starts into this preparation and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Top Echelon gelding was beaten a whisker when finishing second in a BM0-58 Hcp over the mile on his home track. He meets similar company here and gets the gun-run from gate one today. Craig Robertson rode the five-year-old here two starts back and has the reins again for this assignment. He maps to be box-seating on settling and with a clear run to the line, he can get the job done today.
