Race 5: No.5 PRINCE OF DIAMONDS ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

Narango galloper PRINCE OF DIAMONDS is three starts into this campaign and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Moshe gelding recorded win number four when he destroyed his opposition in a BM0-55, here over 1200m. It was no surprise to see the winning margin of 2.5 lengths semaphored after he clocked 1:08.5 for the race. He steps-up in grade today but does drop in weight and has Rob Thorburn sticking with him for this assignment. The six-year-old is high-flying at the moment and has found the podium on ten occasions from his 18 race starts. He maps to settle right behind the speed today and a repeat of that last performance should see him hard to hold out here.

Race 8: No.4 LIZZIE’S PRIDE ($4.85 with BoomBet)

The ever-consistent LIZZIE’S PRIDE is third-up today and looks set to bring up her second career win here. Last start, the Gallant Guru mare made the podium for the eighth consecutive time when she finished third in a Class 2 Hcp over 1920m on her home track at Toowoomba. With Alisha Donald on board for her ninth ride on the mare, she did it tough, racing outside the leader with no cover but fought on gamely and held onto the minor prize over the line. She drops in grade today and has Donald backing-up for the ride here. A trouble-free run today should see her hard to beat in this contest.

Race 6: No.11 BERAKAHQUINN ($10 with Picklebet)

Melissa Taylor saddles-up two here as we run with BERAKAHQUINN who looks the most likely to press for victory in this contest. Last start, the Better Than Ready mare stepped-up to Class 1 company for the first time where she finished mid-field in the 1050m event at the Gold Coast. It was also the first time she had raced on the synthetic track. Today, she returns to country racing and has regular hoop Dale Smith sticking with the mare, piloting her for the ninth time here. Placed here two starts back, she looks great value in this line-up and is well worth an each-way ticket today.
