Race 6 No. 3 DEMARCAY- ($6.50)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for DEMARCAY. The Chris Waller-trained galloper has failed to land in the money in his five Australian starts but was ok in harder company than this at his initial preparation and wasn’t far away when resuming in a BenchMark 70 at Sandown on September 20, finishing 8th over the 1800m behind Taramansour. The four-year-old was midfield on a very fast tempo but stuck on well to land within three lengths of the winner. This is easier and he will strip fitter at his second run back.

Race 7 No. 3 SOARING EAGLE- ($7.60)
This might be one for the veteran galloper, SOARING EAGLE. The eight-year-old was honest when resuming in a BenchMark 70 at Sandown over the 1300m on September 20, leading before fading late into 6th place, beaten four lengths by Glitzing. She went 0.9 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is nearly eight lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. The David Brideoake & Matt Jenkins-trained galloper produced similar figures second up at her last preparation before winning over the 1600m, while she draws perfectly in barrier 4.
